Things to do in Otago

Otago is located in the southern half of the South Island of New Zealand.  It covers an area of approx. 32 square kilometres making it the second largest region in New Zealand.  It has a population of around 250,000 with 106,000 of those people living in Dunedin.

The main tourist attractions however is Queenstown and Wanaka.  Although they have a small residential population of 16,00 & 12,000 this can change drastically in peak summer and winter seasons.

There are so many things to do and see in Otago.  It’s main attractions in the winter is the mountains that see thousands of skiers and snowboarders hitting the slopes.
In the summer those slopes turn to mountain bike tracks.

There are so many lakes, rivers, trails and tracks in Otago that it would take you a very long time to see and do it all.
