Things to do in Southland

Southland is New Zealands southernmost region on the South Island.  It includes Southland district, Gore district and Invercargill.  Its population is around 102,000 people, with half of those living in Invercargill.

Southland is home to two national parks.  Fiordland is the most well known as its home to Milford Sound.  Rakiura national park is located on Stewart island.

If you’re a keen explorer there are some great hikes , some amazing rivers and stunning fiords to go and see.  Just don’t forget your camera.
