Taranaki is a region on the west coast of New Zealands North Island.  It is named after its main geographical feature that’s most prominent when you Google New Zealand, Mount Taranaki.  Pictured above.

The population of Taranaki is around 125,000 with its biggest city being New Plymouth thats home to around 58,000 people.

Mount Taranaki is the second highest mountain on the North Island and a famous landmark throughout New Zealand.  Surrounding Mount Taranaki is the Egmont national park.
